MBA successfully appealed Donegal County Council’s refusal of planning permission for an anaerobic digester for the processing of agricultural and food waste. We persuaded An Bord Pleanála that the proposal constituted sustainable development and was consistent with the Council’s planning policies on farm diversification and renewable energy. This appeal involved preparation of a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement.
MBA was instructed to examine Dublin City Council’s approach to the zoning of land in the Dublin City Development Plan 2011-2017. We provided affidavits for a successful judicial review that resulted in the High Court ordering the City Council to reconsider its zoning policies.
MBA obtained planning consent for a centralised AD plant for the processing of 90,000 tonnes per annum of agricultural and food waste in County Donegal. The project will involve bottling biogas for use in vehicles and running off-site CHP engines. The application involved the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement. MBA persuaded the Council that the proposal complied with national and local planning and waste management policies and dealt with detailed environmental issues involving the EIA and Habitat Regulations.
