MBA secured consent for NI’s largest retrofit of PV panels at Bombardier Aerospace’s Wing Manufacturing Facility in Belfast. These panels have the potential to generate 4 MW of electricity and represent an investment of £4m into renewable infrastructure. Consent was granted 2 months after application submission as a result of MBA’s pre-application engagement with the Department and Belfast City Airport as well as the effective management of the planning application.
We obtained consent for a wind turbine with a 30m hub height on a farm outside Ballymoney. The key planning issues were landscape and visual impact and impact on a flood plain.
MBA secured consent for four £0.5m Biogas Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Engine installations at Bombardier sites across the Greater Belfast area. Each of the 0.5 MW installations will burn polished biogas to drive a turbine and create electricity to power Bombardier’s plants. We coordinated and drafted the submission of information which allowed these applications to be screened out of a positive EIA determination and approved within 3 months.
